In a significant relief for Isha Foundation and its founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the Supreme Court on Friday closed the habeas corpus proceedings filed against the foundation. The case was initiated by a man who alleged that his two adult daughters were being held captive at the ashram of Isha Foundation in Coimbatore.

A Bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud concluded the proceedings after a report from the Tamil Nadu Police found no evidence of illegal confinement. The two women, whose father, Dr S Kamaraj, had filed the petition, stated before the court that they were voluntarily residing at the ashram.
