The BJP on Friday intensified its offensive on the RG Kar Hospital rape and murder case asking West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata police commissioner Vineet Goyal to step down in the interest of a fair probe. The BJP also demanded an investigation into the call records between Mamata and Goyal in the 72 hours after the murder of a doctor at a seminar hall of the college-cum-hospital.

BJP leader Sambit Patra released an August 10 letter that Sandip Ghosh, principal of the college, wrote to PWD engineers asking them to demolish the room, staff toilet and doctors’ toilet around the hall where the victim’s body was found.
