Stampede death: Hours after arrest, 'Pushpa 2' actor Allu Arjun gets bail
The Telangana High Court on Friday granted a four-week interim bail to actor Allu Arjun, arrested earlier in the day in connection a woman’s death during the screening of his film 'Pushpa 2' last week.
The court issued the order shortly after a local court remanded Arjun to 14 days’ judicial custody. He was sent to Chanchalguda jail under tight security.
While granting bail, the HC directed Arjun to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The incident has drawn widespread attention, leading to heightened scrutiny of safety measures at movie screenings.
Meanwhile, the husband of a woman who died during the chaotic December 4 premiere show of ‘Pushpa 2’ has stated he does not hold the actor “responsible for the tragedy”.
“Allu Arjun is not at fault for coming to the theatre. I am ready to withdraw my case,” Bhaskar told mediapersons.
Bhaskar also revealed that he was not informed about Arjun's arrest and learned about it only through the news.
His eight-year-old son, injured in the incident, is currently receiving treatment at a private super-speciality hospital. The Telangana High Court has granted the actor interim bail.
