Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi would visit Sambhal in UP on Wednesday and meet the family members of people killed in police firing there.

The violence in Sambhal erupted on November 24, when a large number of protesters clashed with police near the Shahi Jama Masjid during a court-ordered survey of the 16th-century mosque.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
