PM Narendra Modi will be on a three-day US visit that would include a meeting with Quad partners, attending the UN ‘Summit of the future’ and meeting industry captains for cutting-edge technology on semi-conductors.

He will also address a gathering of the Indian community, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. During the visit, Modi will take part in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, which is being hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 21.

The Quadrilateral, or the ‘Quad’ leaders’ summit that was scheduled to hosted by India, will now be hosted by the US, the White House announced on September 13. New Delhi will host it next year.

This will be the fourth-such ‘in person’ summit of the Quad — that has India, Australia, Japan and the US as partners. At the summit, leaders will review the progress achieved by the Quad over the last one year and set the agenda for the year ahead to assist the countries of the Indo-Pacific region in meeting their development goals and aspirations, the MEA said.

Modi will address the ‘Summit of the future’ at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on September 23. The theme of the summit is ‘Multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow’.

On the sidelines of UNGA meet, the PM will be holding bilateral meetings with several world leaders. He will be interacting with Chief Executive Officers of leading US-based companies to foster greater collaborations between the two countries in the cutting-edge areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and bio-technology. In New York, the PM will address a gathering of the Indian community on 22 September. He is expected to interact with the ‘thought leaders’ active in the India-US bilateral relations.
