Shah added that the PM had linked everything from heritage to science with the vision of 'New India'.

"With his strong will and determination for public welfare, he has made many seemingly impossible tasks possible and has set new records for poor welfare. In the form of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the country has got such a decisive leader, who has worked to bring about a change in the lives of the deprived by bringing them into the mainstream, starting from the security of the country. Along with increasing the self-esteem of the countrymen, the global outlook towards India has also changed under his leadership. Modi ji, who has raised the prestige of the country from the depths of the sea to the heights of space, is an inspiration for peace, compassion and empathy all over the world," said Shah.

Agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his message said Modi had

worked  tirelessly for the upliftment of the nation and the welfare of the people.

"Your dedication and vision for building a developed and self-reliant India is incomparable," he said in birthday greetings for Modi.

On the occasion, Shah will address the media today and is expected to make some major announcements.

Earlier, Shah had dismissed speculations that Modi would retire from active politics when he turns 75 next year.

The statement had come after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said Modi planned to retire upon turning 75, as per a BJP rule, and pass the baton to Shah.

Shah had categorically denied any such move and asserted that there was no such blanket rule in the party.

Earlier several BJP veterans, including LK Advani, MM Joshi and Sumitra Mahajan hung their boots after turning 75.
