Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a six-day visit to three countries—Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana—between November 16 and 21. The visit will begin with a stop in Nigeria, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 17 years, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

During his visit to Nigeria, Modi will engage in talks to review the strategic partnership and explore opportunities to further enhance bilateral relations. He is also expected to address a gathering of the Indian community in Nigeria. Both countries have been strategic partners since 2007, with growing cooperation in the areas of economy, energy, and defense. More than 200 Indian companies have invested over $27 billion in key sectors in Nigeria.

From Nigeria, the Prime Minister will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he will attend the G20 Summit on November 18-19. The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will provide an opportunity for Modi to present India’s stance on various global issues. He will also build on the outcomes of the G20's 'New Delhi Leaders' Declaration' and the 'Voice of the Global South Summits,' both hosted by India in the past two years.

On the sidelines of the summit, Modi is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The final leg of Modi’s tour will take him to Guyana. This will be the first visit to the country by an Indian Prime Minister since 1968. In 2023, Guyanese President Mohamed Irfaan Ali visited India as the Chief Guest at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where he was also awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.

During his visit to Guyana, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with President Ali, address the Parliament of Guyana, and interact with the Indian diaspora. In Georgetown, he will also participate in the second CARICOM-India Summit.
