Modi first ‘active member’ of BJP
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda have become the first ‘active members’ of the BJP with the party’s membership drive that began on September 2 entering final stages. The initiative aims to engage members more deeply in party activities and strengthen its grassroots presence.
Modi was enrolled as the first active BJP member yesterday and Nadda was enrolled today.
As part of the membership drive over nine crore people have joined the BJP. The BJP’s active membership drive begun on October 16.
Anyone with three years of experience in the BJP, who has also enrolled 50 simple members and paid Rs 100 can become party’s active member.
Active members alone can take part in BJP organisational polls the process of which began day before yesterday with the appointment of K Laxman, BJP OBC cell chief as election officer.
