Health Minister JP Nadda on Sunday said infant mortality rate had come down in Bihar and Jharkhand since 2020. Highlighting the strides made in mother and child health, Nadda, after inaugurating ‘BJMFCON 2024’ organised by Bihar & Jharkhand Medical Forum (BJMF), said institutional deliveries had increased from 78.9% to 88.6% in first five years of PM Narendra Modi-led government.

“IMR in India was 28 per 1,000 live births in 2020. In Bihar, it came down from 42 to 27 in 2020,” he said.
