Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India's Act East Policy has given new energy, new direction and new momentum to ties with ASEAN.

He was speaking at the India-ASEAN Summit.

The PM said India-ASEAN friendship, coordination, dialogue and cooperation is very important at a time when the world is facing conflict and tensions.

“I believe the 21st Century - an Asian century - is the century of India and ASEAN nations,” he said.

India-ASEAN are neighbours, partners in Global South, and a fast growing region in the world, Modi said.
