External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday emphasised the strength of the India-France partnership, describing it as a “very strong relationship”.

Speaking at the signing ceremony between the National Museum of India and France Museums Development for the upcoming Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum, Jaishankar remarked, “A few words about India and France. Most of you would be aware that this has been a very strong relationship for us. India and France see each other as important poles in a multipolar world.”

“When you hear India and France talk about how we view the world on our terms, rather than how others might want to define it, it’s our history and heritage that give us the confidence to take such positions. By deepening our cultural collaboration, we are also strengthening a unique relationship that we believe can contribute to creating a more democratic world order,” he added.

France’s Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, echoed this sentiment, stating, “France is eager to embrace the vision of the Prime Minister of India. We share the same vision for culture.”
