The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday released Rs 5,858.60 crore to 14 flood-affected states as the Centre’s share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and an advance from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

An amount of Rs 1,492 crore has been released for Maharashtra, Rs 1,036 crore Andhra Pradesh, Rs 716 crore Assam, Rs 655.6 crore Bihar, Rs 600 crore Gujarat, Rs 189.20 crore Himachal Pradesh, Rs 145.6 crore Kerala, Rs 50 crore Manipur, Rs 21.6 crore Mizoram, Rs 19.2 crore Nagaland, Rs 23.6 crore Sikkim, Rs 416.8 crore Telangana, Rs 25 crore Tripura and Rs 468 crore have been released to West Bengal.

These states have been affected due to extremely heavy rainfall, floods and landslides during the southwest monsoon this year.
