‘Divine’: PM on Dwarka darshan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday went scuba diving off the Panchkui beach coast in Gujarat and performed prayers as he witnessed the ancient Dwarka city of Lord Krishna, which is submerged in the water.

The PM laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed satellite centre at PGIMER, Ferozepur, and inaugurated the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in Jhajjar, Haryana. It will have apex level yoga and naturopathy research facilities.

Foundation stone of the New Mundra-Panipat pipeline project worth over Rs 9,000 crore was also laid. The 1,194-kilometre Mundra-Panipat Pipeline with an installed capacity of 8.4 MMTPA would be commissioned to transport crude oil from Mundra on the Gujarat coast to Indian Oil’s refinery at Panipat, Haryana. A Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy would also be set up in Jhajjar. Four other AIIMS were announced for Rajkot (Gujarat), Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), Kalyani (West Bengal) and Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh).

Besides, multiple development projects worth Rs 4,150 crore were announced. Among them were pipeline projects at Vadinar and Rajkot-Okha, Rajkot-Jetalsar-Somnath and Jetalsar-Wansjaliya Rail Electrification projects. Foundation stone for the widening of Dhoraji-Jamkandorna-Kalavad section of NH-927 was laid, while a Regional Science Centre at Jamnagar and Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system installation at Sikka Thermal Power Station, Jamnagar, were announced. The PM dedicated 200 healthcare infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 11,500 crore, which included the medical college of JIPMER at Karaikal, Puducherry. National Institute of Naturopathy named ‘Nisarg Gram’ in Pune was announced, while 21 projects of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation worth Rs 2,280 crore were declared.

Meanwhile, the PM said, “The Congress used its power to make only one family prosperous. However, after the BJP-led government came to power, all kinds of scams, which used to take place under the Congress regime, stopped. When I gave the guarantee of the making a New India, the opposition ridiculed me. Today, everyone can see the New India in front of their eyes. Those who ruled the country for a long time did not have the willpower and intention to provide facilities to the common people.”

“In the past, all major government events used to take place only in Delhi. However, I have taken the government to every corner of the country. Today’s programme is a testament to this effort. We are continuing a new tradition of development works, inaugurations, and laying of foundation stones in many cities across the country,” he added.
