AAP elated at grant of bail to Kejriwal by Supreme Court, says 'Satyamev Jayate'
The AAP has already begun celebrations after the Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case being probed by the CBI in connection with the alleged Delhi excise policy scam.
AAP leaders welcomed the move by the apex court, and posted on X, “Satyamev Jayate”.
Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia posted, “Today again truth has won in the fight against lies and conspiracies. Once again I salute the thinking and foresight of Baba Saheb Ambedkar ji, who 75 years ago had strengthened the common man against any future dictator.”
Raghav Chadha in a post on X said, “Welcome back Arvind Kejriwal, we missed you! Truth may be troubled but not defeated! Finally, the Honorable Supreme Court has given its verdict freeing Delhi's son Arvind Kejriwal from the shackles of jail. Thanks to the Honorable Supreme Court!”
“Dictatorship cannot and will not work in democracy. The dictator bows down and wants a fighter. Modi's tyrannical rule could not break the spirits of @ArvindKejriwal. Jail locks broken, @ArvindKejriwal was released. The mountain of lies is falling, the false case of ED, CBI, BJP has been exposed. Satyamev Jayate!” said AAP MP Sanjay Singh in a post on X.
Senior AAP leader Sandeep Pathak and Atishi also echoed celebratory sentiments.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case on March 21. He was later granted interim bail for the Lok Sabha elections. However, in July, the CBI arrested him in the corruption case and he was in judicial custody at Tihar Jail.
In July, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Kejriwal in the ED case, but he remained in jail in connection with the CBI case.
