New Delhi: As many as 925 complaints of booth capturing were made during the recently held parliamentary and assembly polls, with a maximum of 875 being received from West Bengal, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday. Citing data shared by the Election Commission (EC), Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said 14 people were arrested. PTI

Jobs rose over 35% in last six fiscals

New Delhi: The employment in the country increased by more than 35 per cent over the last six fiscal years to 64.33 crore as of March 2024, Parliament was informed on Thursday. The total increase in employment from 2017-18 to 2023-24 is around 16.83 crore, MoS for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje said in a reply to Rajya Sabha. PTI

Govt party in nearly 7 lakh court cases

New Delhi: The central government is a party in nearly seven lakh court cases with the ministries of defence and finance topping the list, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said on Thursday. Meghwal told the Rajya Sabha that a total of 6,98,904 cases are pending in courts in which Union ministries and departments are a party. PTI

Flight delays hit 11L people till May this yr

New Delhi: A total of 11 lakh passengers were impacted by flight delays this year till May, and airlines shelled out nearly Rs 13 crore for providing facilities to them, according to the Civil Aviation Ministry. In 2023, 22.51 lakh passengers were impacted due to flight delays. The data was provided in a reply to the LS by MoS for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol.
