Independence Day Celebrations: Chandigarh Administrator to honour 25 with commendation certificates

The UT Administration has decided to award commendation certificates to 25 persons on the occasion of Independence Day for rendering outstanding services in their respective fields.
The certificates will be given by UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria during the event tomorrow.
The awardees are Roshan Lal, senior assistant, GMCH-32; Anisha, special educator, GRIID-31; Dr Dinesh Garg, Senior Medical Officer; Dr Sanjay Batish, System Manager and Head of Computer Centre, Punjab Engineering College (PEC-12); Shiv Prasad, Superintendent Grade-II, Director (Higher Education); Komal Saini, Work Experience Instructor, Director (School Education); Lalita Devi, senior assistant, UT Secretariat; Amit Kumar Sharma, Draftsman, Urban Planning; Ishan Sharma, clerk, Industries Department; Nirmal Kumar, Head Warden, Model Jail; Khushdev Singla, Inspector, Office of Food and Supply and Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology; Gurmukh Singh, senior assistant, DC Office; Neelam Kumari, junior assistant, Police Department; Naveen Malik, Estate Office; and Lakhwinder Jit Singh, senior assistant, Labour and Employment Branch.
Sumit Goyal and Sheetal Negi will be awarded in the field of social service, while Lalit Kala Akademi vice-chairman Ravinder Sharma and Dr Rahul Dhiman will be awarded in the field of art and culture.
Certificates will be conferred upon national cricket team manager Dilsher Khanna and Gurkaran Singh for their contributions to the field of sports, while Ramesh Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director General and State Informatic Officer, National Informatics Centre, Chandigarh, and Dr Aman Bhatia will be awarded in the field of public service.

Aditi Arya, a student of UKG at Chitkara International School, Sector 25, has emerged as a budding mountaineer at the age of five, reaching the base camp of Mt Everest and Kala Patthar. The UT Administrator will honour her with a commendation certificate
Mona, a vendor registered with the MC, after getting a loan under the Prime Minister’s SVANidhi scheme, opened a tea shop in the Industrial Area. Under the Viksit Bharat campaign, Mona interacted with PM Narendra Modi. The UT Administrator will honour Mona with a commendation certificate as well
Civic body to fete 103 workers, citizens
Chandigarh: The local MC will award commendation certificates to 103 people, including its officers/staff, social workers, NGOs and citizens, for their exemplary work in their respective fields. The awards will be presented during the I-Day function at the MC office in Sector 17 on Thursday. Mayor Kuldeep Kumar Dhalor will be the chief guest at the event. TNS
