With less than a week left for polling, Independent candidate Naveen Goyal has unveiled his ‘Vision Gurugram 2.0’, promising a transformative overhaul of the city within 100 days if elected.

Goyal has previously faced accusations of civic nuisance from residents in his own sector due to erratic parking and littering. However, his vision document promises a complete overhaul of the city’s civic infrastructure. He criticised both the Congress and BJP candidates, claiming they are disoriented and unaware of the city’s real needs. Goyal’s vision includes ambitious plans, with a primary focus on establishing Gurugram as an artificial intelligence (AI) hub.

“Gurugram is already a cyber, auto and startup hub. This world-class city deserves to be at the forefront in the country, and an AI hub is essential for that. People here live in flats worth crores, but still struggle with basic infrastructure like roads. The tech-savvy population deserves better, and they want a leader with vision and execution. Those stuck in religious and communal lines can’t bring any real progress,” Goyal said in an interview with The Tribune.

Accused by the BJP of being a vote-splitter, Goyal dismissed the allegations, saying that people are frustrated with the Congress and BJP. He added that the BJP is unnecessarily using his name for political mileage.

“They’ve had a month to explain why they failed this Millennium City, but instead, they’ve only played the Brahmin card or smeared my name. The plight of the party is evident from the fact that their Central ministers come here solely to ridicule me. I challenge their candidate to sit with me in a debate and explain what he plans for Gurugram. As for the Congress candidate, he’s nowhere to be seen. We’ve always been present for the people, and that’s why we’re gaining support,” Goyal added.

Meanwhile, addressing the controversy with the Resident Welfare Association of his own sector, Goyal explained that the influx of people to his house was due to the elections and his growing popularity. He denied accusations of occupying any park and stated that he has arranged valet parking services to prevent traffic congestion. Additionally, he mentioned that he has deployed staff to monitor and prevent littering in the area.
