A Good Samaritan saved the life of a child after his father, a migrant labour, allegedly tried to harm him by setting their shanty on fire near a Phase-8 hospital on October 15. The child sustained burns on the face and chest and was admitted to the Phase-6 civil hospital.

The police arrested the migrant labour and are searching for the occult practitioner, who allegedly incited him to harm his child for a superstition.

Gurpreet Singh was going on his bike when he saw the migrant labour setting his own shanty on fire and talking loudly about harming his own child in front of other minors. He stopped and rescued the child, said the police.
