Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, in a joint operation, recovered heroin from near the border. On the evening of October 3, the BSF received a tip-off from the intelligence wing about the presence of a suspected packet in the area, a joint search operation was launched by them in collaboration with the Punjab Police.

During the search operation, at about 8 pm, the troops successfully recovered one packet of suspected heroin (gross weight- 550gm) in a field, adjacent to Daoke village in the district. The packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and further secured with blue tape. A steel ring and a mini torch were found attached to the packet, officials said.
