Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today gave a slogan “AAP di sarkar, AAP da MLA” (AAP’s government, AAP’s MLA) in Gidderbaha Assembly segment here, while campaigning in favour of AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon.

“I appeal to you all to give your contribution to the state government by electing our candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon. Once he becomes an MLA, it will be your demands, his paper and my signatures,” said the CM, while addressing the rallies here.

He took potshots at Pradesh Congress Committee chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, whose wife Amrita Warring is the Congress candidate from here, and BJP candidate and former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal. Besides, he trained his guns on former CM and BJP leader Capt Amarinder Singh as well. “I recently saw Amarinder visiting a grain market. There is no retirement age in politics, but in all other fields. I appeal to all such leaders to let youngsters come ahead,” said CM Mann.

Whenever he targeted any leader in the Opposition, the public cheered. “Dimpy is always here for you, while Raja left Gidderbaha and went to Ludhiana, and Manpreet left Gidderbaha, went to Bathinda and has now come back again. I have worked with Manpreet in his People’s Party of Punjab (PPP). He later joined the Congress, but I did not go along with him. I, however, took the oath as CM at Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s native village, because I follow the martyr’s ideology,” said Bhagwant Mann.

He added, “I appeal to you all to press the number two button on the electronic voting machine (EVM) for Dimpy to come on number one. The sound of EVM will convert into the screams of Raja Warring. Warring thinks the posters put up by him will convert into votes for his wife, but the public now understands everything.”

The CM further said that he would again come to Gidderbaha on Thursday. Some employees’ unions also met the CM and handed over their memorandums to him.

Meanwhile, Dimpy Dhillon appealed to the voters to keep in mind what the BJP government did with farmers during their agitation in Delhi. “You people have given 16 years to Manpreet and 13 years to Raja, but I demand just about two years. If I fail to perform as per your expectations in the next two years, then I will not come to seek your votes in 2027,” said Dimpy.
