New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu conferred National Awards on 82 educators, including 50 teachers, on Thursday. In addition, 16 teachers each from the Department of Higher Education and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were also awarded. The President said teachers had to prepare such citizens, who are not only educated but also sensitive, honest and enterprising.

CBME guidelines withdrawn with immediate effect

New Delhi: Less than a week after publishing Competency Based Medical Education Curriculum (CBME) guidelines, the National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday announced that the guidelines stand “withdrawn and cancelled” with immediate effect. The NMC had reintroduced lesbianism as a ‘sexual offence’ in CBME, which was removed in 2022. This sparked outrage from various quarters.

Israeli firms showcase tech to counter drones

New Delhi: The Israel embassy in India said Israel had shared its operational experience and advanced technological capabilities with India on countering drones, aiming to deepen security cooperation between the two countries. The embassy in a statement today said a seminar was conducted in New Delhi on ‘combating the drone threat’ from September 3 to 4.
