In Brief: Fire breaks out in building
New Delhi: At least 10 people were rescued from a residential building in Shastri Park area, which caught fire on Tuesday morning. A call regarding the fire in the building in Shastri Park’s lane number three was received at 9.30 am and five fire tenders were pressed into service, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said. Fire Officer Yashwant Singh said they found the parking lot on the ground floor had caught fire and a few occupants were trapped on the upper floors.
Training in Germany
New Delhi: Students from government schools are set to participate in a dual vocational training programme in Germany that aims to equip them with advanced technical skills and invaluable work experience. This initiative is being organised by the Delhi Government in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and leading German industries for students who have passed Class XII, a statement said on Tuesday. The ‘APAL’ project covers training partnerships with schools in Latin America, India and Uzbekistan and offers young people from select countries the chance to undergo dual vocational training in Germany.
