In Brief: Absconding gang member nabbed

The Nakodar City police have arrested an absconding member of the Ankush Bhaya gang. The gang was linked to major criminal syndicates, including Vikram Brar, Goldy Brar, Rinda Baba and Ravi Balachoria. Nakodar DSP Sukhpal Singh said the accused had been identified as Dalver Singh, alias Bhola, a resident of Adda Mehatpur, Nakodar. OC

Two arrested for stubble burning

Phagwara: The Bilga police have arrested two villagers for violating an order duly promulgated by a public servant by burning paddy stubble fields. Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Lal said the suspects had been identified as Sulakhan Singh, a resident of Talwann village, and Bindu Yadan, alias Vinod Kumar, a resident of Lidharr Kalan village. The IO said a case under Section 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS was registered against the suspects on November 22.
