I don’t spare anyone, I’m notorious for it, says Vij at janta darbar in Sirsa

Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij made a bold statement at the District Public Grievance and Redressal Committee's monthly meeting on Friday, declaring, "I don’t spare anyone; I’m notorious for it," as he addressed several pressing issues in the district. The meeting, held at the local Panchayat Bhawan, saw the resolution of nine out of 17 grievances, with the rest deferred to the next session. This was the first committee meeting held since the formation of the new government.

Despite starting 45 minutes late, the meeting attracted a large turnout of people seeking solutions. As soon as Vij arrived, a crowd gathered with many having their complaints recorded by officials after being unable to attend the meeting. Local legislators, including Gokul Setia, Bharat Singh Beniwal, Sheeshpal Keharwala, along with Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, ADC Lakshit Sareen, and SP Vikrant Bhushan were present to support the proceedings.

The minister took immediate action on several cases, including a corruption-related issue involving the former Municipal Inspector of Rania, Ramesh Kumar, where Vij ordered swift action. Addressing a case of illegal tree cutting in Kaluwana village, Vij reiterated his tough stance: "I don’t spare anyone; I’m notorious for it."

Vij directed officials to take immediate action in several other cases, including a compensation issue involving land disputes in Ganga village. He also intervened in a case of physical assault in Bani village, reviewing CCTV footage and instructing the police to take strict action against the perpetrators, saying, "If people are attacking others in their homes, what is the police for?"

A significant grievance addressed was the delayed refund from the Housing Board, where a complainant had not received the due refund for eight years. Vij ensured that the victim would receive the refund with interest, highlighting the government’s commitment to resolving such issues.

Interacting mediapersons, Vij discussed the recent defeat of the Congress in the state elections, blaming party leader Rahul Gandhi for the loss. He also reiterated his plans to take strict action against drug dealers in the state and he also directed the SPs of Sirsa and Dabwali to take strict action in response to the growing drug problem in both areas. Vij announced that farmers could now apply for solar-powered tube well connections.
