I am a total fitness freak, says actress Kavitta Verma
- Tell us something about your background…
I come from an Army background. My dad was a Colonel so, yes, I am a warrior’s daughter. I am a graduate from National School of Drama and then I made my way to Mumbai.
- Tell us about your work in Mumbai…
I did a lot of fashion shows as a model and showstopper in Mumbai. I also did a bit of theatre and shows. It was a film called Policegiri with Sanjay Dutt that gave me a good break.
- If not an actor what would you have been?
I don’t know what else I would’ve been. Honestly, that question has never occurred to me.
- You have undergone a phase of depression as well. What kept you going?
What I have learnt from my life is that no medicine, no therapy can save you if you don’t want to be okay. That call has to come from you, from your inner voice. I have been to Benaras and used to spend lot of time at the ghats to search for my soul; last year I also went to Sadhguru’s ashram, there I spent 20 days, which also helped me.
- Tell us something about the love birds you have at home…
Yes, I have two sets of love birds at home. After my father passed away last year, I was all alone at home. There was complete emptiness and then I brought them home. They brought a lot of positive vibes in my life.
- What are your hobbies?
My hobby is to write poetry. So far I have written close to 200 poems. I am also a kathak dancer. I have learnt belly dancing too and am a fitness freak.
- What kind of work are you looking forward to?
I am keen on web series. I have received a few offers, but most of them needed a lot of skin- show, which I am not comfortable with. Web series have some great content and I am eagerly waiting for the right offer.
