The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has issued a notice to political leader Naveen Goyal, accusing him of encroaching on a main sector road to create an illegal parking space. The notice alleges that Goyal raised the plinth level of the road to convert it into a private parking lot, which has caused significant inconvenience to locals.

“You are directed to remove these illegal activities within 15 days, or strict action will be taken against you,” read the notice. Goyal, a BJP rebel who contested the Haryana Assembly elections independently and finished second, losing to BJP leader Mukesh Sharma by a margin of over 60,000 votes, has been embroiled in multiple controversies.

Residents of Sector 17A, where Goyal resides, have long complained about his civic activities, accusing him of causing traffic congestion at the sector’s entry point due to illegal parking, littering, and frequent political gatherings.

The Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 17A has been vocal in its criticism of Goyal. “While the HSVP’s action is appreciated, it doesn’t address the core issue. The real problem is Goyal’s use of a residential property for non-residential purposes. We need the authorities to ensure that he shifts his political office elsewhere,” said RWA president Rakesh Jinsi.

Goyal’s alleged activities have been a point of contention for the sector’s residents, who have long demanded stricter action against him.

Residents also accused him of attempting to illegally take over an adjacent park to use as a waiting area for his political workers. They had threatened to stage a protest outside his house during the election campaign, but Goyal requested more time to address the issue. Multiple attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.
