Haryana CM’s swearing-in: Did BJP take nod for hoardings, asks Mayor
Mayor Kuldeep Kumar Dhalor has asked the MC Commissioner to check if permission was obtained by the BJP for installing hoarding and banners along various roads in the city for the swearing-in of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini yesterday.
In a letter to the MC chief, the Mayor stated that it had come to his notice that on October 16 and 17, hoardings and banners of various BJP leaders were put up on electricity poles on the Madhya Marg, from Transport Chowk to Dhillon Theatre, Mani Majra, and from Transport Chowk to Lalit Hotel in 1T Park in view of the ceremony.
“The information may be provided within three days positively,” he wrote as he sought to know if the requisite permission was taken by the BJP from the MC for installing those hoarding and banners. “If yes, please supply the permission letter and also intimate how much fee was collected from the party,” he wrote. If permission was not taken, a notice be issued to the city BJP president to deposit the necessary fee along with penalty as per rules, he added.
Meanwhile, city BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra said it was not possible that prior permission was not obtained for putting up hoardings for such a big function. A senior official said permission was taken by the Haryana DPR and bills had been issued to pay the fee.
