HPCL Pro 11 win U-18 cricket tourney at Gumma
HPCL Pro 11 defeated Theog Dynamites by 40 runs in the final to win the second Shimla Under-18 Inter-Tehsil cricket tournament at Gumma. After putting up a massive total of 305 for the loss of four wickets in 35 overs, HPCL bowlers restricted Theog Dynamites to 268/8 in the allotted 35 overs to win the trophy.
Batting first, HPCL lost their captain Daksh Thakur early on but Sambhav Sharma and Devansh Thakur stabilized the innings with a good partnership. While the 12-year-old Sambhav hit a stroke-filled 76 of just 45 balls, Devansh contributed 39 of 50 balls. Later, Aditya smashed an aggressive 90 off just 63 balls to help his team cross the 300 run mark.
For Theog Dynamites, captain Vishrwa Thakur played a good knock of 84 off just 56 balls. But once he was gone, Theog Dynamites failed to keep up with the required run rate and ended up 40 runs short off the target.
