HP varsity allocates Rs 16 cr for campus development
Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, Prof Rajinder Verma, announced a Rs 16 crore budget for training and development programmes to enhance campus facilities. He emphasised improved security through the installation of CCTV cameras and the repair of streetlights. Speaking during a dialogue and grievance session with the newly elected Student Council Executive Committee, he reaffirmed the administration’s focus on student welfare and a vision to foster excellence in education and research.
Discussions during the session covered initiatives such as disaster preparedness training, plantation drives, anti-ragging campaigns, entrepreneurship programs, and cultural activities aimed at boosting student engagement. Prof. Verma commended student unions, including the SFI, ABVP, and NSUI, for their cooperation and urged active participation in ongoing reforms.
Prof Verma stressed the importance of collaboration between students and administration to ensure the university’s sustained progress and holistic development.
