Hoshiarpur, July 6

The gathering of office-bearers, constituency in-charges, circle presidents and workers of Shiromani Akali Dal was held at Gurdwara Jahra Zahoor Purhiran under the leadership of district president Lakhwinder Singh Lakhi Gilzian. In the meeting, important issues related to the party were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, district president Lakhi Gilzian said that everyone should work unitedly for the progress and prosperity of the party. He said that all traditional leaders and workers were ready to work for the betterment and progress of the state under the leadership of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said that the party did not gave good results in the elections, but in the coming time, the shortcomings of the party will be removed and the Akali Dal will be strengthened. Targeting the rebel group of Akalis, Gilzian alleged that the leaders who had enjoyed high positions in the party, were now engaged in weakening the party at the hands of BJP, and shall never succeed in their purpose. He said that the people of the state had seen the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government and it will be wiped out in the upcoming elections.

Former cabinet minister Sohan Singh Thandal said that the entire leadership of the district was standing firm with Sukhbir Singh Badal. He appealed to the leaders who are leaving the party to come back and work to strengthen the party so that it can win other elections, including the upcoming SGPC elections.
