Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda assured an important role to the Kalayat Assembly segment in government if voted to power. He was addressing a gathering in Jakholi village of Kalayat Assembly segment on Saturday, where he sought votes in favour of party’s candidate Vikas Saharan, who is son of Hisar MP Jai Parkash.

Hooda said that Kalayat will get 3 MLAs with one vote.

“People of Kalayat will elect three MLAs – me, Jai Parkash and Vikas Saharan. To ensure the important role of the Kalayat Assembly segment in Haryana government, elect Vikas with a bug margin,” he said.

Hooda also launched a fresh attack on the BJP and alleged that it has turned Haryana into a ‘migration state’. He assured to stop migration of youth by providing job opportunities in the state.

“BJP has made Haryana a ‘migration state’ as youth, businessmen and companies are migrating out of the state. Companies and businessmen are migrating due to fear of ransom calls, and youth are migrating to other states and abroad due to lack of employment. Farmers are migrating from farming due to lack of respect. Youth are unhappy with the Agniveer scheme,” he said.

Hooda added the continuous exodus of talent and opportunities from Haryana is very distressing and assured to stop it.

“It will a priority for the Congress to stop such an exodus of talent. Our government will ensure that criminals, miscreants, drug addiction, unemployment, inflation and dictatorship are out of Haryana and the state becomes number one in the country in development and prosperity,” he said.

Hooda also mentioned the problems of paddy farmers, and said that during the Congress tenure, paddy procurement started from September 15, while the BJP keeps giving dates every time.

He said, “Paddy has started arriving in markets from September 15. Earlier, the BJP government said that its procurement would start from September 15, then September 23. Later, it was extended to October 1. After the farmers’ protest, procurement was announced from September 27, but till now, no agency has started work in the markets. Due to lack of procurement, farmers are forced to sell their paddy at Rs 500 below the Minimum Support Price announced by the government,” Hooda said.

Speaking at the rally, Congress Hisar MP Jaiprakash said the Congress has released a manifesto which fulfils the expectations of every section.

“The Congress government is going to give Rs 6,000 pension to the elderly and Rs 2,000 per month to each woman. An old pension scheme will be implemented for employees and 2 lakh permanent jobs would be given to the youth. The Congress also promises to remove the backwardness of Kalayat,” he said.
