Olympians Akashdeep Singh and Monika Malik are all set to tie the knot in Mohali on November 15. The shagun was held in Jalandhar on November 13, where several international players, including Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Sardara Singh, marked their presence.

Akashdeep belongs to Vairoval village in Tarn Taran and Monika is from Gamdi village in Sonepat. “I want them to blossom in their lives,” Akashdeep’s father Surinderpal Singh Khaira said.

Akashdeep and Monica have played over 200 matches each for the men’s and women’s hockey teams, respectively.
