Ahead of the MC polls in Jalandhar, hundreds of hoardings and posters of candidates across various wards dot the city in a clear violation of the election code of conduct. Almost all city spaces, main roads, chowk and thoroughfares see posters.

Additionally, the main chowks of the city carry huge hoardings of candidates with folded hands, flanked by area party in-charges and leaders. Even in streets and interiors of colonies have hoardings by respective political parties -- AAP, the Congress and BJP.

The main GT Road, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Pucca Bagh, PPR Market, Urban Estate, 120-feet road among other areas are dotted with the party posters. While there are 85 wards in the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, not a single ward has been spared.

The most aggressive party campaign has been marked in the Jalandhar Central and North constituencies where a large number of posters dot public places.

Despite the directions of the Election Commission, the previously put up posters and boards advertising government schemes and welfare projects remain put up in the city.
