The Department of History, in collaboration with the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, hosted a lecture on “Recent Discoveries from the Feminist Archives: The Lost World of Sarala Devi” by cultural historian and former member of the Auroville Foundation governing board Prof Sachidananda Mohanty, Sri Aurobindo Chair, Panjab University.

Over 50 students and teachers in attended the event.

Prof Mohanty delivered a lecture, delving into various aspects of the gender disparity in western countries and India. He elucidated the role of Sarala Devi to fill this gap. Her diversified works like essays, biographies, translations, etc were discussed.
