Talk on Saraswati civilisation at Kurukshetra University

Kurukshetra: The Centre of Excellence for Research on the Saraswati river organised a talk on the Saraswati Civilisation, Culture and Country at Kurukshetra University. Professor Sanjit Kumar Mishra from IIT Roorkee, who was the chief guest, said the quest for the Saraswati river was not just any other search for any material utilitarian source of water, rather it was spiritual and led to uncovering and establishing the civilisational roots of the vedic culture with Saraswati at the centre. “The prime reason behind this diminutive approach towards the understanding of the Saraswati civilisation can be linked with thousand years of a foreign rule which failed to comprehend the essential Indian ethos. After the Arabic invasions, the successive European colonisation has led into a cultural chaos which needs to be resisted and also dismantled. The Vedic or the Sanatan way of life is the only solution to the conservation of rivers like Saraswati and to ensure unrestricted flow of rivers like Ganga and Yamuna,” he added.
