Youth getting training in drone technology at ITIs

As many as 128 youth are undergoing drone training in 11 government ITIs of the state to help the youth keep pace with evolving technology. There’s a thrust on providing quality vocational training to the students — currently, 363 technical education and industrial education institutes are functioning in the state.

“Job fairs and campus interviews are being organised regularly across the state to provide better placement opportunities to the youth,” said a government spokesperson.

Drone technology plays an important role in disaster response management. The spokesperson said government was working towards making Himachal a skill hub of the country and upgrading the skills of the youth by providing them training as per the modern-day demand of the industries. “Efforts are afoot to make youth experts in new-age cutting-edge technologies and information technology in the persistently changing environment,” said the spokesperson.
