Pinegrove School, Dharampur, hosted the finale of the seventh Mohinder Memorial Bilingual Turncoat Debate today.

The event brought together bilingual debaters from 14 schools from across India.

Pinegrove School, Dharampur, was declared the winner, while the Pinegrove School, Subathu, team was adjudged the first runners-up.

The host school, however, handed over the trophy to St Soldier Divine Public School, Panchkula, which had secured the third position, while the runners-up trophy was handed over to LK Singhania Education Centre, Gotan, and Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, who had jointly secured the fourth position.

Pro-Chancellor and Chief Advisor of Datta Meghe Medical College, Nagpur, Dr Ved Prakash Mishra was the chief guest at the event.

Out of 28 participants, 16 were shortlisted for the final round by the judges, Anju Mehta, Dr Harsh Vardhan Singh Khimta, Hemank Kapil, and Dr Mukesh Sharma.

The finalists debated the topic “Universal basic income is a practical solution to poverty”, selected by a draw of lots.
