A capacity-building workshop of master volunteers under the ‘Nasha-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free India Campaign) was organised in Chamba.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal presided over the event organised by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with Gunjan Organisation, to plan effective drug prevention activities in the district. Representatives from various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and volunteers alsi participated in the workshop.

Addressing master volunteers, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised that awareness and educational activities play a critical role in fighting substance abuse in society. He stressed that parents, teachers, and intellectuals must contribute significantly, especially in guiding the younger generation, towards curbing the drug menace.

Repaswal directed the District Welfare Officer to increase the number of master volunteers in the district by launching a Chamba Chapter to effectively implement awareness activities.

Earlier, District Welfare Officer Chaman Sharma gave detailed information about ongoing activities in the district under the drive.
