NURPUR, JULY 28
In the first phase (package one) of the construction of the Pathankot-Mandi four lane project, construction of an elevated flyover has started at Jassur near here. The executing private construction company has diverted vehicular traffic on the service lane of the Pathankot- Mandi national highway-154.
The company has implemented Safety Diversion Plan under guidelines of the Indian Roads Congress, the apex body of the highway engineers in the country.
The NHAI official said that the flyover bridge comprising 30 spans was being built from Chhatrolli Nullah bridge to sabzi mandi at Jassur. Its length would be 910 meters and breadth 30 meters and the distance between every span would be 30 meters.
Its construction will be completed within two years.
After shifting vehicular traffic in the service lane and in the absence of any parking facility in the Jassur market, traders are facing a lot of inconvenience.
Local veopar mandal and market welfare society have urged the administration to provide a temporary parking facility so that customers do not face any hardship in parking their vehicles.
