Will ensure 80% jobs in private sector for Himachalis, says minister
Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan today said that the state government was ensuring that employment in all industrial, power and tourism units was provided to the residents of the state. He presided over a meeting of the Labour and Employment Department here.
Chauhan directed the department to ensure 80 per cent employment for Himachalis in private industrial units in the state.
He said that the state government had implemented various welfare schemes for the benefit of the youth. “One such welfare scheme is the Skill Development Allowance Scheme under which Rs 22.90 crore has been provided to 51,587 youth. Similarly, Rs 16.83 crore has been provided to 18,404 beneficiaries of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme till date in this financial year,” he added.
He expressed satisfaction over the digitisation of 100 per cent employment exchanges in the state. He said that registration and renewal could be done online and there was no need to visit the employment exchanges anymore.
The minister said that private employers could upload the details of vacancies in their organisations online on the ‘eemis’ portal. He added that at present, 567 private organisations had got themselves registered on the portal.
