On the occasion of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, wheelchairs and tricycles were distributed to the needy persons with disabilities. The programme was organised at the National Career Service Centre of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment located at Una.

Assistant Director of the Una NCSC, Ranjon Changkakoty said the centre was the only one in the state and imparts vocational education to persons with physical challenges in various disciplines. He called upon the private entrepreneurs and business organisations to provide employment to the trained youth so that they can earn a livelihood.

Ranjon Changkakoty said sports and recreational activities were also held for those who were present at the function today. He informed that all six persons with disabilities, who run the ‘Pahal Canteen’ near the district secretariat and earn a living for their families were also honoured on the occasion.
