What our readers say: Widen road to Hatu Temple
The famous Hatu Mata temple is 7 km from the famous tourist spot Narkanda. Most people visiting Narkanda visit the temple, but the journey, especially for those going in a car, is nothing short of a nightmare due to the extremely narrow road. It is disheartening to see that the ride to such a famous spot is full of anxiety for travellers. The 6-km stretch, leading to the temple, needs to be widened to make it safer for visitors. Until that is done, a few spots should be identified up to where a one-way system should be implemented. —Jawahar Kaul, New Shimla
Garbage dumped on slopes along NH
Heaps of garbage, especially plastic waste, have been dumped along slopes of the National Highway in Fagu and this is contaminating the environment. The authorities concerned should remove this garbage and take stern action against those found guilty of dumping it here.
