THE condition of 5-km Rangari-Kanyal road and 8-km Simsa-Shaleen road has been pitiable after the sewerage line was laid. The work of laying the line progressed at a snail’s pace, taking over 2 years. The road has not been repaired after the digging job. People of nine villages were affected due to the lackadaisical approach of the Public Works Department (PWD). Residents have been facing difficulties in transporting apple crop to the markets. Tourism beneficiaries have to bear the brunt of the pathetic road condition. The condition of the road in the home panchayat of Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut and former minister Govind Singh Thakur is disheartening. Mangal Chand, Nasogi, Manali

Monkey menace at Summer Hill

MONKEYS have become a huge problem at Summer Hill. People, including students, face a lot of issues due to the monkeys, especially during the mornings. The fear of monkeys has grown so much among people that they avoid walking alone in the area. The authorities concerned should take action to control the simian menace in the area.
