What our readers say: Footbridge in Kullu town not repaired
The approach road to Tapu footbridge, connecting the Akhara Bazar area of Kullu town and Left Bank road, has not been fully repaired even after over one year of it being damaged due to floods. The gabion has not been repaired and people are crossing the bridge by risking their lives. This bridge provides convenience to the people of the Kharal valley, especially elderly residents who visit the Hanuman temple, which is also connected through this bridge. The government and administration are not taking any steps to repair it. The bridge should be repaired at the earliest for the convenience of the residents. Satish, Kullu
Drug trade flourishing in Manali, cops must act
The tourist town of Manali has become a hub for drug peddlers and flesh trade is also rampant. Peddlers can be seen approaching tourists to sell heroin or cannabis. Youngsters are falling prey to synthetic drugs. Such things are spoiling the atmosphere of Manali and also bringing bad name to the region. The police should take strict action against those involved in the illegal trades. Kavita, Manali
