The Nehru Yuva Kendra today organised a district-level Youth Parliament for youths of Una and Bilaspur districts.

Twenty-one youths from the two districts participated in a declamation contest on a topic of their choice from among three suggested by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The three topics were ‘Making India a global leader’ – The role of young entrepreneurs in making India an economic power, ‘From Atmanirbhar to Viksit Bharat’ – Charting India’s growth trajectory powered by youth and ‘Empowering the future’ – Youth led initiatives paving the way for a responsible community. The participants had the choice of either speaking in English or Hindi.

The programme was held virtually at the National Informatics Centre in the District Secretariat building.

NYK Sangathan joint director Prabhat Kumar said the NYK and the Union Ministry of Youth Services and Sports provided many platforms to the youth to enable them convey their progressive ideas and thoughts to society.
