Vikramaditya urges Gadkari for tunnel construction at Bhubujot
Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today. He thanked the Union Minister for sanctioning Rs 350 crore under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and for extending support for providing exemption to ropeway projects from forest clearance from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Vikramaditya requested Gadkari for the construction of an alternative road from Ghatasani-Shilha- Badhani-Bhubujot-Kullu with a tunnel at Bhubujot, which would reduce distance by 40 km on the National Highway-144. “This tunnel is very important from tourism point of view, besides its strategic importance. It will greatly facilitate tourists visiting Kullu district,” he added.
Vikramaditya also urged Gadkari to grant approval for the construction of a Rs 125.57 crore double-lane bridge over the Beas between Basantipattan and Kheri connecting Kangra and Hamirpur districts on priority under the Bharat Setu Yojana.
He urged the Union Minister for the construction of a 110-metre span single-lane steel truss motorable bridge over the Beas at Pandoh on the Pandoh-Shiva road in Mandi district at a cost of Rs 19.09 crore. Gadkari assured him of all support to the state.
