Acting on a tip-off, Chamba health officials sealed a pharmacy operating without a drug licence in the Bharmour subdivision. The unlicensed drugstore, located in Lilh, was inspected by a departmental team following a complaint. When asked to present a drug licence, the operator failed to provide it, prompting officials to shut down the store immediately.

Following this action, the team proceeded to Dharwala, where they inspected two private dental clinics. The clinic operators were directed to submit records of medications sold and patient details, but were unable to do so, citing various reasons. In response, health authorities issued formal notices to both clinics, requiring them to provide the requested records within 15 days. Failure to comply may lead to further action.

Assistant Drug Controller Nishant Sareen confirmed that the Lilh pharmacy has been sealed, while notices were issued to the Dharwala clinics. Chamba Chief Medical Officer Dr Bipin Thakur emphasised the department’s commitment to ensuring that no vendor sells drugs without a valid licence.
