Una & Mandi reach finals of HPU inter-college hockey tournament
The three-day Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Inter-College Men’s Hockey Tournament, hosted by Government College, Chamba, witnessed thrilling semi-final matches on its second day at the historic Chamba Chaugan on Thursday.
The event, which features 10 teams from colleges affiliated with HPU, Shimla, and Sardar Patel University, Mandi, has drawn audiences for its competitive spirit and display of talent. In the first semi-final, Government College, Mandi, showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, defeating Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial (MLSM) College, Sunder Nagar, with a decisive 3-0 victory. In the second semi-final, Government College, Una, emerged victorious in a closely contested match, defeating Government College, Hamirpur, by a narrow margin of 1-0 to secure their spot in the finals.
Earlier, Mandi Defeated Ghumarwin by 3-0, Una defeated Bilaspur by 3-0, MLSM, Sunder Nagar, defeated Chamba by 3-0 and Hamirpur defeated Kullu by 4-0.
The games were held in two sessions. Government College, Lyhl Kohti, Principal Dr Shiv Dayal was the chief guest at the morning session, while Government College, Salooni, Principal Dr Mohinder Salariya presided over the afternoon session.
