Two police officials held on bribe charge in Mandi
Two police officials from Padhar police station in Mandi district were arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe from a local resident. Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Padhar, and Head Constable Ashwani Kumar were taken into custody after a successful sting operation carried out by the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Mandi.
The Vigilance Bureau took action on a complaint filed by Virender Kumar, a resident of Gawali village in Padhar tehsil, alleging that the two police officials were demanding money for helping him in a case registered against him at Padhar police station. The complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau, which initiated an investigation into the matter.
