Two more drug peddlers of Radhe gang arrested
Two more drug peddlers associated with the Radge gang have been nabbed by the police. The accused were identified as Devinder Kumar (31), a resident of Sarli village in Dalash in Kullu district and Ved Prakash, alias Titu (44), a resident of Nagraon village in Kumarsain tehsil of Shimla district. So far, 12 accused of the Radhe Gang, including the kingpin Radhe, have been arrested.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Shimla Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said the accused were identified after forming “backward linkages”. He said these peddlers were involved in sale of “chitta” in the Rampur and Kumarsain regions of Shimla district. He said more arrests were expected in the coming days as investigation was on in this case.
The gang was busted after one of its peddlers was arrested from Kumarsain on October 17 with contraband of 47.74 gm of “chitta”. This led the police to arrest Daleep Kumar, alias Radhe, the alleged kingpin of this drug network, from Baddi in Solan district. Investigations revealed that Radhe had long operated an inter-state drug racket, sourcing heroin from Punjab suppliers to distribute primarily in Rampur and Kumarsain.
This is the third major inter-state drug network dismantled in Shimla in the past two months. In September, Shahi Negi, alias Shahi Mahatma, was arrested as the head of a drug racket active in Rohru, Jubbal, Kotkhai and Theog, with over 25 associates detained.
